Points of View: Capturing the 19th Century in Photographs will run from Friday 30 October 2009 to Sunday 7 March 2010.
It will bring together, for the first time, a magnificent selection of photographs from the British Library’s unique collections, examining the history of the medium and its influence in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
From portraits of Oscar Wilde to motion-capture sequences of walking baboons, and from Talbot's earliest positive-negative pictures to documentary records of 19th-century life for rich and poor, this fascinating exhibition is sure to bring you new points of view on photographs and photography.
